To load the newsgroup list

1. From the Windows menu, choose Newsgroups.
2. From the News menu, choose Download Complete Newsgroup List.
   You will see a status window showing the number of newsgroups that have been downloaded.

Tips

• In order to access newsgroups lists, you must first set up Internet Mail and News to access your news server.
• The news server you are currently using is displayed in the News Server box. To change the server, choose Preferences from the Edit menu, click the News Server tab, and select a different server.

To check for new newsgroups

1. From the Windows menu, choose Newsgroups.
2. From the News menu, choose Download Updates To List Only.
   You will see a status showing you the number of newsgroups being downloaded or a message telling you that there have been no new newsgroups added to the server since your last update.

Tip

• To see the full newsgroup list again, choose Show Complete Newsgroup List from the News menu.

To search for a newsgroup

1. If the Newsgroup window is not open, choose Newsgroup from the Windows menu.
2. In the Display Newsgroups Containing box above the message list, type the word(s) that are contained in the title of the newsgroup you are looking for. As you type, only the newsgroups that match what you type will be visible.
3. To show the entire list of messages again, delete the text in the Display Newsgroups Containing box.

To choose a different news server

1. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
2. Click the News Server tab.
3. In the Server List area, click the server you want to use.
4. Click OK.

Tip

• This option is not available if you are using Internet Config.

To add a newsgroup to your Favorites list

1. In the Newsgroups window, select the newsgroup you want to add to your Favorites list.
2. From the News menu, choose Add Newsgroup To Favorites.

Tip

• To remove a newsgroup from your Favorites list, select the newsgroup, and then choose Remove Newsgroup From Favorites from the News menu.

To go to a favorite newsgroup

1. From the News menu, point to Go To Favorite Newsgroup.
2. From the pop-up menu, choose the group you want to visit.

Tip

• To remove a newsgroup from your Favorites list, select the newsgroup, and then choose Remove Newsgroup From Favorites from the News menu.
